The craftsman behind both names
Howard Morris.
Decades of craftsmanship.
Howard’s Crafts is the Canyon shop behind Howard’s Leather and WoodWorx by Morris. Its work reflects Howard Morris’s long experience with leather and his craftsmanship across woodwork and engraving.

Leather & wood, under one roof
Always something to make.
Howard began working with leather around 1952, building the hands-on experience he brings to his craft today. Carved patterns, tooled textures, and stitched edges remain part of the work customers can see in his shop.
Today, the photographs around his shop show both Howard’s Leather and WoodWorx by Morris. Wallets and belts share the space with wooden pens, game boards, trays, and engraved pieces. Different materials, with the same attention to workmanship and personal details.
A few moments along the way
A long connection to Canyon.
Howard’s experience with leather began decades before the current shop. Canyon has been his home since 1964.

A place for the work
He buys the building that becomes his current shop on 1st Avenue.
More than a place for tools
A shop for making.
And for visiting.
In 2008, Howard bought the building that became his current shop. It brought his tools and work together in a place where people could stop by and see what he was making.
Howard has called Canyon home since 1964. That long connection to the community is part of the shop’s story: customers can meet the craftsman, see examples of his work, and discuss their own projects.
Today, Howard’s Crafts brings leatherwork, woodworking, and engraving together at 609 1st Avenue. Contact Howard to discuss custom work or arrange a visit.
